Blizzard Conditions Likely in Plains and Midwest

Wind gusts of 35 to 50 mph (in places) will occur with the storm expected to develop in the Rockies tomorrow night and move across the Plains and Midwest Wednesday and Thursday. This will make extremely hazardous travel in these regions and I recommend you consider going earlier or later to avoid the worst of the storm.

Here is the probability of 2 inches or more accumulating from 6pm Tuesday to 6pm Thursday.

The probability of 4 or more inches accumulating.

Again, with the howling winds there will be considerable drifting of snow. A blizzard watch is already in effect in the central High Plains and additional advisories will likely be necessary farther east with time.
