That said, storms are not getting worse in the United States.

ReplyDeleteThat said, the number of outbreaks is irrelevant. It is the number of "strong" (≥F-3) that is important. Their numbers are going down: http://www1.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/cmb/images/tornado/clim/EF3-EF5.png If you add 2015, the trend continues. Thank you for the question.
