Slight Tornado Threat Today

There is a low pressure system moving into the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Even though it is December, there is a slight chance of a tornado or two in the area shaded in green. I think the best chance is probably in the Kansas part of the area.

If a tornado occurs, it will be brief, relatively weak (there is no such thing as a safe tornado) and, because of its brevity, difficult to warn of.

So, if you live in the green shaded area, you may wish to keep an eye on the weather today. Other thunderstorms may cause small hail and gusty winds.
