Sunday Fun: The Great Bob Newhart
...was the special guest on Thursday's episode of The Big Bang Theory.
Often, these celebrity guest appearances bomb but this was wonderful. Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, meets his child TV hero, "Professor Proton" played by Bob Newhart.
You can watch the entire episode here. It would be a great way to start your week.

Newhart did a guest gig on NCIS a couple years ago, playing a more dramatic role - one that touched home for me. He was a retired medical examiner who was receding into dementia, and trying to deal with it. The writers were brilliant in giving Newhart a little phone call bit to a restaurant reminiscent of his early "Buttoned Down Mind" that made him famous.
ReplyDeleteBob is one of my all-time favorites. He is brilliant in most everything he does. Thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteMy stepbrother works on BBT and said it was a treat to have Newhart with them. When Stephen Hawkings was on it was as if they were in a church because of the reverence towards him. It's so great of them to bring in great comic minds, now if they could get Dr Cosby!
