Two Tornado Watches; Warnings Already in Effect

This is the most serious watch with not only a "moderate" likelihood of tornadoes, there is a moderate likelihood of a tornado of F-2 intensity or greater. It includes Baltimore, Washington, Richmond, and Norfolk and is in effect until 9pm EDT.

The second tornado watch is in effect farther west, also until 9pm.

Finally, there is a severe thunderstorm watch in effect in the Carolinas until 10pm.

Large hail and damaging thunderstorm winds are possible in all three watches.

As of 2:50pm EDT, a tornado warning is in effect just west of Baltimore with the severe thunderstorm warnings the amber polygons.

As of 2:50pm, there are significant air travel delays at Toronto, Baltimore, Reagan, Detroit, and Dulles. These will only spread over the region the rest of the day.

If you know people in the tornado watch areas, you might give them to call to make sure they are aware of the serious weather threat. These is well outside of tornado alley and most of these areas do not have outdoor warning sirens.

I will try to do one more update early this evening, if my schedule permits. There may also be some updates @usweatherexpert on Twitter. and @breakingweather are also following the storm.
