Snow Cover in 48 of 50 States

This is an amazing snow cover map. From NOAA:
Only Florida and Hawaii are without snow cover. Simply amazing.

UPDATE: We have confirmed snow on Mauna Kea on the Island of Hawaii, so it is 49 of 50 states. Wow.

  1. Are you sure about Hawaii?

  2. No, I am not. There is often snow on the tops of two of the volcanoes in Hawaii. But, I have not been able to find a source for real-time snow info there.

  3. According to NOAA, 7+ inches of snow fell on Mauna Kea yesterday. That will make 49...if only Florida could've gotten in on the action this past weekend.
