Risk Ratcheting Up

In northeast Wichita, it "feels" like a tornado. That is a comment residents of tornado alley will understand.

A few minutes ago, the Storm Prediction Center sent a blurb that they expect "strong" tornadoes in the area in the red hatching. I agree.

At 12:54pm CDT, the radar shows a thunderstorm near Lyons and Manhattan, both moving northeast. While I think it will be at least another hour (and, more likely, between 3 and 4pm) before anything really strong can develop, it is time to start paying attention to the weather in this region.
