Safety Rules Part 3; Flash Floods

More than half of flash flood fatalities are due to drivers who are perfectly safe putting themselves in harm's way.

Water is far heavier than many realize. Two feet of flowing water will lift most cars off the road. Because the water obscures the roadway, there is no way to know whether it has been washed away. Driving into flowing water is always a bad idea!

The National Weather Service's advice, Turn Around, Don't Drown, says all you need to know in four words.
