Overnight Rains and 24-Hour Forecast

At least one fatality has been reported in southern Oklahoma and I fear the toll will rise significantly. Major flooding is going to occur along the Washita River. Major flooding is now occurring in the City of Ardmore where their street barricades have been washed away.

Here are the amounts up to 9pm (latest available). The dark red ESE of Wichita Falls is 8-9 inches. The darkest red NW of Ardmore is 10"+.

Here are the forecast additional amounts between now and sunrise. Some areas will total more than a foot.

Here are the amounts for the next 24 hours.
I would strongly advise against traveling between OKC and Dallas on either I-35 or US 77 the rest of the night. Rapidly rising waters and darkest is a dangerous combination.

Whatever you do, turn around, don't drown.
