Energy Poverty
With the important exceptions of food and water, the best predictor of prosperity is access to affordable energy. Europe has installed huge amounts of highly expensive (and unreliable) wind and solar. As a result, electricity costs have skyrocketed.
In the third world, it is immoral (in my opinion) to bar access to reasonably priced coal and natural gas-generated electricity so they can have a chance at a reasonable life.
