Rough Day in the Appalachian States

The 5% (brown) area has a significant tornado threat, along with damaging straight winds from thunderstorms. So, please have at least two sources of storm warnings and be ready to monitor the weather at the first sign of an approaching thunderstorm.

If you are flying today: regardless of your destination, a large area of thunderstorms like this can disrupt airline schedules throughout the United States and eastern Canada. So, get to the airport early and see if they will let you stand by for an earlier flight. On a day like this early = better. Regardless, be prepared for airline employees that are surlier than usual. Good luck!
