California and Southern Oregon: Update on the Storms

Here is the rainfall from the storm that affected the area yesterday.
As forecast, the Southland missed out on this one.

Still, there is considerable concern about the two upcoming storms:
The Forecasts
The forecast precipitation from 4pm today to 4pm Tuesday, which encompasses the next two storms.

The first storm will be approaching the Northern California coast Saturday morning. This is the forecast map for 10am Saturday. It will move over the state Saturday night and Sunday but likely will not cause worrisome amounts of rain in the Southland.

The forecast map for 10pm Sunday shows the next storm arriving.

And, at 10am Monday, the storm is moving into the Southland as heavy snow falls in the Sierra.
This storm should last through Wednesday and then there will be a break.

Preliminarily, the next storm will arrive the following Sunday night (25th).

Of course, I will continue to provide updated information here on the blog.
