Winter Storm in Central United States

Above is the forecast for noon Christmas Eve. Winds will be increasing from the Oklahoma Panhandle north to South Dakota. Color code:
  • Green is rain, darker green is heavier rain.
  • Yellow is thunderstorms. Red is stronger thunderstorms.
  • Blue is snow, darker blue is heavier falling snow.
  • Pink/purple is mixed rain/snow.
Flight delays are possible in Denver. 

Noon Christmas Day: High winds with snow -- perhaps blizzard conditions -- will be occurring from far northern Kansas across Nebraska and into eastern South Dakota. The storm will move slowly north.

Travel conditions will be extremely hazardous along I-80 across Nebraska will this storm is in progress.
