Tornado Outlook: Updated 2:15p Saturday!

This is a big deal:  The yellow, hatched area has an enhanced risk of strong tornadoes. This includes Nashville. Special vigilance in monitoring the weather is called for. Make sure your weather radar works and your television is on. If you have tornado sirens in your neighborhood, crack a window in that direction

The brown area has a significant risk of tornadoes.

    1. Crack the window on the side your siren is on so you can better hear it. At least that’s what I think it means!!

    2. To try and equalize the air pressure so home won't explode when low pressure tornado hits. Don't think it helps much. Do don't depend on a siren; listen to local radio/tv.

    3. You aren't supposed to crack the window. They have found long ago that is how your house will explode. Also you shouldn't be using outdoor sirens to warn you, those are for people that are stuck outside. Everyone that lives in a tornado prone area should have a NOAA weather radio and a cell phone app.

    4. It is exactly that! To keep ur house from exploding! And sirens arent the first defense but theyre to notify ppl that maybe dont have tvs or are outside.. things like that. We had a tornado about 4 yrs ago here in Albertville and the siren went off afterrr the tornado had hit! Everyone needs a noaa radio! Plain and simple

    1. No, you should never, ever depend on outside sirens while you are in your home. The outside sirens are for people that are outside when a tornado comes.
