First Look at Christmas Travel Weather

Between Now and Thursday Evening
With rain and snow ending in the East, here is the forecast rain (snow in the mountains) forecast between now and 6pm Thursday. While snow will occur in the Sierra, it is not expected to be enough to cause major issues along I-80.

Just to give you a general idea of weather conditions, is the forecast weather map for 6pm Wednesday. The only major area of precipitation will be in the Southwest.

Friday and Saturday
The forecast precipitation from 6pm Thursday to 6pm Saturday.

It will be unusually warm across the nation Saturday, so there will be little snow.
The lack of a "while Christmas" in most areas will be made up for by the lack of snow and ice for travelers.
