August Temperatures As Measured by Satellite

After all of the hubbub during the summer about "the hottest time in history," we have the August temperatures as measured by satellite. Both July and August were hot but, by a tiny margin, not the warmest in history. 

The current El Nino (hot ocean water along the equator west of South America) is part of the heatwave. It is also likely the Tonga volcano is part of it, as well.
