10am Friday Update on the Twin Tropical Threat

Here is the latest on the two tropical storms that threaten both Florida and the Gulf States.

We now officially have Tropical Storm Laura in the Atlantic.

The second tropical system is near the coast of Nicaragua.
Because we haven't had two tropical systems simultaneously in the Gulf for more than 70 years, our forecast confidence is not high, especially due to the interactions with land that will affect both systems.

Stay tuned here and on Twitter @usweatherexpert.
