As this is being written, another blast of Arctic air is moving south.  Below is the temperature forecast and the location of the cold front at noon tomorrow (Saturday) from the Canadian Global model.  By Tuesday morning, the coldest of the air will bring below zero temperatures to much of the nation. Single digits will extend from Ohio to Texas.  Please prepare accordingly, including caring for your pets.  While on the subject of extreme temperatures, I often talk about how wind energy fails when needed the most. Below is a closeup of forecast temperatures Tuesday morning for Kansas and southern Nebraska. Note Lincoln and Omaha forecast to be -13°F (circled).  The wind forecast is below with Lincoln and Omaha circled. Their forecast wind speed? Just 3 mph! Numerals are wind speed. A forecast of how rainbows will change in the next 78 years. 🙄 Taxpayers in both the United States and Great Britain evidently paid for this peer-reviewed paper.  First, who cares?! Second, weather forecasts 78 years in the future? Absurd.  That is hardly the only recent global warming silliness. See below from CNN. The nonsense doesn't stop! Of course, this is the same publication that told us in March, 2000, that "children aren't going to know what snow is." Today, if you attempt to look up that infamous article, you get, "We can't find that page*." No matter how many times the zealots are wrong , it never diminishes their confidence and self-righteousness.  NOTE: This one came out today, after the above was posted. Global warming: Is there anything it can't do?! * FYI: While I occasionally will delete a routine forecast to reduce clutter, I do never delete other content, including forecasts that are incorrect 

 As the cold air plunges ever farther south this week, please keep this in mind. 

Sheesh. This is a paper from a scientific journal. It is here , if you have the stomach for it. According to the environmentalists, we should not have pets, we should have fewer children , we should eat less meat , etc., etc., while Al Gore, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Friedman, etc., etc. live in mansions and run around on private jets. Right. Do we really want to be compelled to live in a world where we are forced to have fewer children, no pets and have to deal with the Diet Police?

At left is Caesar and right is Maggie at our home at Christmas. Maggie was visiting when a thunderstorm occurred at our home. It was obvious it made her uncomfortable. According to the Wall Street Journal  there is a new product that comforts dogs during thunderstorms. It is called "Storm Defender" and is available here .  Storm Defender wraps around the dog and bleeds off the static electricity while also comforting the dog (due to the pressure of the wrap). I have not tried it, but it seems to be getting good reviews.

With the blog only about a month old, I continue to research ways of improving the blog and making it interesting. I was just reading that a surefire way to build traffic is to post pictures of pets.  So, here are pictures of the Grandpuppies.
