The red is a Hurricane Warning for part of the Texas Coast at this time.  H = Hurricane;  S = Tropical Storm;  D = Tropical Depression Maximum wind speed at landfall should be about 90 mph.  Here's the 10am Update from the National Hurricane Center. Other than a tropical storm warning for the south Texas coast, the forecast is unchanged. The storm surge forecast is below.  8:30am. Currently Beryl is a tropical storm with winds of 55-60 mph. However, it is forecast to reintensify as it moves toward the Texas coast.  Hurricane Beryl is forecast to have 90-95 mph sustained winds as it crosses the coast. The hurricane watch (pink) has been extended to just west of Galveston. The National Hurricane Center's (NHC) path looks good to me. The amber tint is where tropical storm force winds (40-74 mph) are in progress.  NHC has issued is a storm surge watch for the Texas coast from Brownsville to Galveston, including Galveston Bay and the Houston Ship Channel. The red arrows represent the range of where I forecast landfall of Beryl's center.  I now believe the entire Texas Gulf Coast is in play as to landfall. I was leaning toward that change in this forecast update. The arrival of the 18Z European Model forecast sealed it.  Wind Speed Forecast: if Beryl strikes near or south of Corpus Christi, wind speeds will be around 85-90 mph. If the storm strikes north of Corpus, wind speeds could be in the 90-100 mph range.  Tbe National Hurricane Center's Hurricane Watch is shown in pink along the central and southern Texas coast. I believe they will have to extend the watch farther north in later advisories.  The flood forecast is here . There will also be a storm surge near and north of where the center makes landfall. Finally, there will be a few tornadoes.  I will update this forecast again Saturday morning
