Updated at 5:15pm: Special Flood Warning for Southern California

The NWS has issued a very rare "dangerous flooding" forecast.

Here are the rainfall amounts up to 3pm PST.
More than 4" of rain have fallen in the coastal mountains where the NWS has issued its flood warning.

In the southern Sierra, amounts have exceed 12" in spots causing severe flooding. According to a University of Oklahoma flood estimation program, in a couple of spots, the flooding in the southern Valley may be a once in 50 year (average) event (purple pixels).
It is a good Friday night to stay in and watch basketball or pay-per-view. If you must drive, never try to cross a flooded area by foot or by car!!

Update at 5:15pm PST: The NWS has modified the flash flood forecast from now until 4am Saturday. There are two areas of "moderate" risk (red).
