Bob Dole, RIP

Former Kansas senator and Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole has passed away at the age of 98. The senator was a World War II hero and was known for his forging of compromises in Washington. 

I met Senator Dole on several occasions and he was always cordial. My daughter and I were in Washington in 1996 and were able to attend his farewell address to the Senate so he could run for president. 

May he rest in peace.
