Tornado Threat Already Exists
We already have a tornado watch this morning which includes Atlanta:
The first tornado warnings of the day have already been issued in Alabama. Please check local sources.
And, more are likely to follow. Here is the overall tornado threat:
Five percent (brown) is the significant threat level and it covers a vast area from Oklahoma to South Carolina.
There is also a concentrated threat of very large hail:
Here 15% (yellow) is the significant threat. The hatching is where hail 2" in diameter is forecast to fall.
Needless to say, this will be a stormy day in the South and in the southern Plains. Please keep up on the weather in these areas.
