Drought Denter
The wheat harvest was a bin buster in the eastern half of Kansas and much of Oklahoma this year. While the Nebraska harvest was described as "sluggish," apparently yields were excellent in the eastern part of the Cornhusker State.
However, since the harvest, rainfall has been sparse allowing the drought to reestablish itself in the central U.S.
The above map was for the period ending July 13 at 7am.
Since then, considerable rain has fallen in the central and southern Plains and Rockies.

And, here is the latest rainfall for the 24 hours ending at 7am this morning:
At the Smith House, we had 0.86 inches.
