Storms to Sweep Over Chicagoland

For the rest of the evening thunderstorms will be sweeping across Chicagoland. Some of those storms will have damaging winds, so I urge you to bring trampolines, lawn furniture, and other items that might blow about indoors. I also suggest you put your car in the garage.

Additional flight delays are likely at O'Hare and Midway.

The storms are moving rapidly southeast. This is the radar at 8:48pm CDT and the severe thunderstorm warning of 70 mph winds now extends all the way to downtown Chicago (red tint).
