Serious Flooding Threat

AccuWeather is forecasting more severe weather, especially large hail, in the central and southern Plains this afternoon through tonight.

However, this forecast from the National Weather Service of as much as 11" of rain over the next five days in the Midwest portends a major flooding threat:

The counties in the shades of green are already under various flood warnings:
Maroon colored-counties in southwest Arkansas = flash flood warnings.
While the rains over the drought areas of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas (generally along and west of Interstate 35 in those states) will be welcome, in the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers drainage areas they will only add to the flooding threat.
