Heads Up: Caribbean

The global forecast models that have come in this evening show increasing hurricane potential after the developing tropical storm crosses the Windward Islands.

The strength of the system after noon on Sunday is uncertain as we do not know whether the tropical/hurricane will interact with land.

Regardless, the National Hurricane Center has moved the 8pm Monday position a little closer to Florida. Of course, the center of the storm could be anywhere in the white stippled area. If you are planning a trip to Florida or the Caribbean for the Independence Day weekend, please monitor the weather carefully.
