Ice Storm in Progress

The purples are areas of freezing rain and mixed precipitation. Interstate 40 is shut down near Ft. Smith due to icing conditions and Interstate 49 is reportedly very slick.

That is a 70% area around Indianapolis.

Consequently, an ice storm warning has been issued for central Indiana.

If you are in an ice storm warning:
  • Minimize travel to the greatest extent possible once the freezing rain is imminent. 
  • Get extra cash at the ATM.
  • Fill your gas tank.
