Prior to yesterday, it was #3 in terms of snow amount.

There was also a blizzard on Jan. 31-Feb. 2 either '81 or '82 that also crippled the city but Mid-Continent seemed to get less than other areas of the city so it does not rank as high as it should.Mike Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17435605216805307424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7965215084022057128.post-28715389465094109912013-02-22T07:45:04.845-06:002013-02-22T07:45:04.845-06:00Mike, is the #1 all-time snow for Wichita still th...Mike, is the #1 all-time snow for Wichita still the blizzard of 1971? I'm not exactly sure of the year, but sometime back then there was a big snow. I remember, even though schools were effectively closed (no kid could even make it to the end of his driveway, let alone to the bus stop), our bus driver attempted to make it, but got caught in a snow drift close to a lake, the bus faltered and he unfortunately died of a heart attack. This was out in Springdale, a countryside neighborhood east of Wichita.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09062616048199614142noreply@blogger.com
