A Humorous Take on Houston Misery

Headline From KPRC TV minutes ago:

Headline From the Houston Chronicle minutes ago:
It appears that the Galveston waterfront has come to Houston this morning. Perhaps save some money by staying put?

The radar at 8:44am continues to show light to moderate falling rain generally south of Interstate 10.
There are, so far, no reports of fatalities. I am confident that is due in part to the excellent work of the National Weather Service and the local television meteorologists. They have have a unique facility in Houston called Houston Transtar which combines their emergency management with their sophisticated traffic control. This leads to the faster closing of roads and other emergency measures. Based on what I have seen, it is a model for other cities.
