Global Warming McCarthyism

Apparently, I should be expecting a phone call from Barack Obama. According to his web site,
People are supposed to be filling in the blanks at the bottom of the form (they can do so anonymously, if they wish) with the names of global warming deniers so they can be "called out" by the President.

Of course, this is nothing but McCarthyism.

Regardless, I look forward to my phone call from Mr. Obama.

Yes, this is McCarthyism but as a commenter below points out, I had part of it wrong. I mis-read a line of the form. I'm happy to correct the record. And, I'm still awaiting my call from Mr. Obama.

  1. We'll be damned if he thinks he can tell us "How to think", "How to feel", and "How to speak"!

He is not the king or God he believes he is!

  2. Reading Is Fundamental.

Either you've abjectly failed to read this, or you're deliberately misleading your readers. This isn't collecting names of deniers for a McCarthyesque witchhunt, which can be sent anonymously. This is collecting names of people who oppose deniers who want to be signed up for a mailing list. People are volunteering their own information, not someone else's.

    1. I did. Did you? "It's time to expose climate change deniers—add your name, and join the team that's calling them out, one by one." Add YOUR name, calling THEM out.

What language tells you this is about nominating deniers?

    2. To be clear, I'm pointing out your language here:
" People are supposed to be filling in the blanks at the bottom of the form (they can do so anonymously, if they wish) with the names of global warming deniers so they can be "called out" by the President." That doesn't appear to gibe with anything.

  4. "Join the team that is calling them out, one by one." = McCarthyism.

    1. You can certainly make that claim. I suspect the other side would say there's plenty of actual evidence to attack deniers with. So, that point is debatable.

What is not debatable is heart of your claim -- " People are supposed to be filling in the blanks at the bottom of the form (they can do so anonymously, if they wish) with the names of global warming deniers so they can be "called out" by the President." -- is wholly at odds with the realty. People aren't filling out the form anonymously; they're using their own email addresses. People aren't entering the names of deniers; they're entering their own. People aren't doing it so the entered information can be called out by the president. You make three incorrect claims in a single sentence.

  5. Sheeple: You are correct, I, at first, misunderstood your point. I will correct immediately. Thank you.
