In Warnings: The True Story of How Science Tamed the Weather I talk about what really went wrong in Hurricane Katrina. Why people were trapped at the convention center (the reason isn't what you think) and why so many suffered for so long after. I can't tell you the number of government people who have taken issue with what I investigated and reported. Yet, somehow, others keep coming to the same conclusions:
It is my opinion FEMA should be abolished. They utterly failed in their mission in Andrew, in Katrina and now, Sandy.
The problem is the mainstream media falls for the FEMA PR acts. They do PR very well.
Andrew was 1992. We keep hearing FEMA is going to clean up its act. Won't happen. Like the TSA, FEMA needs to go away.
