Precipitation has greatly increased in size and geographic extent over the last two hours.

Here is the forecast radar at 7am:
The purples are freezing rain and sleet. Blues are snow with the deepest shades of blue the heaviest snow. The greens are the standard radar colors. Scattered thunderstorms are forecast right along the cold front.

And, a forecast of unseasonably cold air. The zero line reaches all the way into northwest Missouri and northern Kansas. Temperatures in northern Minnesota and adjacent areas are colder than -10°F!
