Heavy Snow NYC; Blizzard Boston and Providence

Green is a blizzard watch which includes both Boston and Providence. The dark blue is a winter storm watch. Some areas will receive two feet of snow with wind gusts to 40 mph.

If you are planning to travel to this region between tomorrow night and Saturday, you may wish to reconsider. Unfortunately, the airlines do not seem to have posted waivers as yet (they will, but they will be tardy). Here is my Airline Crisis Survival Guide. This storm is serious enough that it will also affect Amtrak.

  1. What's going to happen on Cape Cod?

I'm not worried about the wind or the amount of precip, I just don't want any *wet* snow with the wind... What's the temp profile look like?

  2. @Steve: That may be exactly what you get along with gusts to 55 mph. See: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=41.73526&lon=-70.012598870056&unit=0&lg=english&FcstType=graphical

  3. Ok, guess I should prepare for downed trees. But hoping it's cold enough the snow won't stick to the trees. Drifting snow is way better than sticking snow.
