Arkansas Tornado Risk and Winter Storm Update

Blizzard (orange) and winter storm (pink) warnings continue in the northern Plains and Upper Midwest this morning.

The Star-Tribune reports the ground is covered in Minneapolis with 4 to 10" expected to accumulate by the end of the day.


Badly-needed rain is falling over the southern Ohio River Valley into Arkansas at the present time.

There is a slight risk of tornadoes in Arkansas later today (brown area is 5% probabilities which represent the significant threat threshold).

And, there is a threat of damaging thunderstorm winds and hail. The significant threshold for these threat is 15% which is the yellow area.
